Accessing add-in functions from excel visual basic

Nov 10, 2012 at 3:11 AM

Hello Keith,

I have successfully written many add-ins with the source code.  Thank you for your efforts on this project.

Can I access the add-ins from within visual basic?

If so, how do I do it?

I've tried Application.Worksheet. appended with the add-in function name and that does not work.

Thanks,

sandyt

Application.Call might work for you. But why cross the street to turn the corner?

Thank you for the hint!

Application.RegisterXLL "XLMAPI.XLL" is the solution.

In my neighborhood not all the streets have sidewalks.

Thanks again for your help.

Cute. Just to be clear, Application.RegisterXLL calls xlAutoOpen to register the add-ins on your street. To call a particular UDF you need to use Application.Call from your sidewalk.
