Sep 15, 2012 at 4:01 PM

Dear Keith,

I wish to use code::block with gcc version 4.7.0, mainly for multi-threading C++. Could you please suggest me about how to install the nxll in code::block.

Thanks and Regards,

Pattabi.

I know nothing about code::block. Maybe http://kalx.net/xll/ has some information you might find useful.

Is there some functionality code::block provides that Visual Studio does not?

Dear Keith,

Thanks for the kind reply. Yes, GCC has more features than VC++, for example the new book "C++ Concurrency in Action: Practical Multithreading" designed to work with GCC. The advantage with code::block is it can use either GCC or VC++ and makes DLL. So I wished your beautiful software work there too. But, why don't to you charge for your software?, for example Comeau C++ compliers charges a nominal fee of 50 USD.

I can make more money using the library than selling it.

VC 2012 has support for the latest C++2011 thread library. I've compiled the xll library using that and it seems to work fine.

Thank You, I will try with VC 2012.

Dear Keith,

Yes, Visual Studio Express 2012 for Windows Desktop works fine with the threads. Could you please provide setup.msi and project.msi for this.

Thanks,

Pattabi.

It is on my list, but not a high priority. You can use projects created with VS 2010 in VS 2012.

Yes Keith, this NXLL project made with VS 2010 works in VS 2012, thanks,
