Bloomberg-like Filling of Cells

Jul 25, 2012 at 9:53 AM

The BDH() function from Bloomberg's API seems to be able to write to cells other than the one that contains the function. According to M$, however, a worksheet function can only write into the cell it was called from. I would like to have this extended functionality also in my XLL that I am developping and that offers a number of business-specific worksheet functions. Anybody got an idea how that is done? Thanks.

Please, please, please do not do that. The Bloomberg Excel add-ins are an abomination. Either write a proper macro, or return an array. You can use Adjust from http://sdrv.ms/JtaMIV to paste the array output into Excel.

Keithalewis, thanks for your quick reply. i wanted to try out what you suggested, so i downloded the Adjust XLL and the corresponding help file. However when i double-click the help file, it tells me that "Navigation to the webpage was canceled" and doesn't display anything useful. How do I get those help pages? Thanks
